In Brief

John Cockerill, a global player in the energy transition, commissioned Pepps for a specialised consulting mission to modernise the supervision platform of its molten-salt concentrated solar power plants.

  • facilitate performance analysis,

  • improve the responsiveness of technical teams,

  • optimise the thermal efficiency of the installations.

This project combines UX design, the development of industry-specific interfaces and support in software architecture.

The challenge

Towards a more agile and scalable platform

With the evolution of the plants and the increasing complexity of their data, the supervision system required a new, user-centred approach.

The challenge was to provide technical teams with an intuitive, readable and responsive interface, while integrating advanced performance indicators to optimise energy management..

The mission

Audit and redesign of the supervision platform

Pepps carried out a full audit of the existing solution to identify its technical and functional limitations. Based on this analysis, a modernised software architecture was proposed in collaboration with the internal teams.

A consultant specialised in industrial data science also contributed to the project to co-design clear and useful performance indicators for supervision. This interface enables teams to interpret critical data more quickly, anticipate performance deviations and secure plant operations.

  • Real-time visualisation of absorbed power (instantaneous and cumulative)

  • Detailed analysis of load distribution by thermal circuit, plus calculation and display of overall thermal efficiency

  • Monitoring of daily plant productivity, with integration of live weather conditions

  • Responsive web dashboards adapted to all screen sizes, with a redesigned user experience featuring a clear and customisable interface
